The Sideway #3: Switching format, daily blogging, podcast launch

Happy Saturday!
Hi there, I'm Benjamin Spring, and you receive this email because you signed up to hear from me at some point, but if you don't want these emails, simply Unsubscribe.

Hey friends, I have some changes to announce. This newsletter will go out on Saturday from now on and the structure might be evolving until I find my creative sweet spot.

I had a busy week as I recorded and published my new podcast and decided to start daily blogging. Both two weeks only after starting this newsletter.

On being prolific

I feel an urge to be more prolific. I need to create momentum for myself and instead of working on fewer projects, I will try to do more and get back to building, finishing, and shipping faster.

Writing is thinking and good conversations energize. The launches of a podcast, a daily blog, and a weekly newsletter simultaneously are all part of a bigger plan to train my creative muscle, build a body of work, and improve my communication skills.

Curated

#1
The Four Quadrants of Conformism (Paul Graham)
"The four types are not equally common. There are more passive people than aggressive ones, and far more conventional-minded people than independent-minded ones. So the passively conventional-minded are the largest group, and the aggressively independent-minded the smallest."

#2
The magic of doing $10,000 per hour work (Khe Hy)
"$10,000 per hour work is the process of identifying your highest leverage activities and committing a small amount of time to them each day. It’s the fast tortoise strategy on steroids."

Question, quote or idea of the week

"Don’t write to sound smart. Write to be useful. If you’re useful over a long time period, you will end up looking smart anyway."
James Clear

I love this from James Clear and will try to use it more as a proxy to create useful things. Is it useful or just signaling?

End Note

Thank's a lot for reading. I'd love it if you shared it with a friend or two that could like it. You can send them here to sign up.

If you find anything interesting last week, please send it my way. I always enjoy new ideas and perspectives.

Have a great end of the week,

Benjamin
